Set design for the piece “Transtorna” (or Distressed), by the Palacio das Artes Dance Company. The project is an architectural intervention that altered the audience/stage relationship (see model in B&W pictures): all 470 seats of the first tier were covered with a wooden platform; an extension of the stage that eliminated the audience and augmented the stage area by more than 450m2, thus creating a smooth space inside an old, traditional, Italian-stage theatre. This architectural change was complemented by a stage and set design that changes according to the choreography; the dense, box-shaped urban scenario being demolished and removed by the dancers at the end of the play.
